Dr. Steve earned his Doctor of Optometry from the Southern California College of Optometry, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. Previously, he attended Johns Hopkins University, where he studied psychology. He received his Master of Public Health and Master of Public Policy from the University of California Berkeley, which led to his first career at Westside Regional Center developing health and wellness programs including a first-of-its-kind Federally Qualified Health Center for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.
As a member of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development and as former associate with Julie Berg Ryan, OD and Vision To Learn, Dr. Steve developed interests and expertise in pediatric optometry, amblyopia, binocular eye disorders and vision therapy. He currently works as a Clinical Trial Investigator for jCyte, performing outcomes testing on low vision patients with Retinitis Pigmentosa.
Dr. Steve serves as Vice President of the Orange County Optometric Society, as well as a Delegate, as a Key Person and on the Membership Committee for the California Optometric Association. He routinely volunteers his time with Opening Eyes clinics at the Special Olympics, as well as medical mission trips to Thailand, Africa and Mexico.
Dr. Steve lives in Irvine with his wife, Anna, and two toddlers, Elyse and Hudson. When not practicing optometry, he likes to jog, bike, travel, try new foods and play card games.
